The Lobster
Ben Whishaw, Colin Farrell and John C. Reilly feature in the first image from new film The Lobster.
The Lobster is set to be the first English-speaking movie from filmmaker Giorgos Lanthimos: he has already brought us movies such as Dogtooth, Alps and Kinetta in recent years.
Filming is currently underway on the film, and it has been announced that Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions have picked the rights from the film in some of the major territories.
The movie is set in the near future where single people are arrested and transferred to a hotel, where they are given forty-five days to meet a partner. If they fail, they are transferred into an animal and released into the woods.
A terrific cast has been assembled for the film, as Whishaw, Farrell and Reilly are join by Lea Seydoux, Rachel Weisz, Olivia Colman, and Ashley Jensen.
The sci-fi/thriller is set to hit the big screen next year, but no U.S. or UK release date has yet been announced.
