Timothee Chalamet wants Austin Butler to make a cameo as Elvis in the Bob Dylan film 'A Complete Unknown'

The 28-year-old star will portray the 'Like a Rolling Stone' singer in the picture and is hopeful that Austin will reprise his part as the King of Rock 'n' Roll – which he played in Baz Luhrmann's 2022 film 'Elvis' – to "create a musical cinematic universe".

Speaking to NME, Timothee said: "I was kind of wishing we could create a musical cinematic universe."

The actor revealed that he has been tapping into his 'Dune: Part Two' co-star's knowledge of bringing a famous musical figure to life so he can perfect his depiction of Dylan in the James Mangold flick.

Chalamet said: "I've been picking Austin's brain nonstop. Let's let my film come out before I'm so lucky as to get included with Austin, he did such a phenomenal job."

The 'Wonka' star explained that the idea for a "musical multiverse" isn't totally outlandish as Elvis (played by Tyler Hilton) featured in Mangold's 2005 Johnny Cash biopic 'Walk the Line'.

He said: "There is an Elvis character in the Johnny Cash biopic.

"I can't speak from Elvis' perspective, but deep in the Bob Dylan lore now, he had tremendous respect for Elvis and Sun Records."

Austin revealed that he enjoyed discussing the biopic experience with Chalamet and is looking forward to being able to see the movie.

The 32-year-old actor said: "Timothee works so hard, and it's just so cool to get to discuss process and talk through things. I can't wait for that film.

"I wish I could be on set every day just to watch the magic happen."
