Tom Hardy

Tom Hardy says the prospect of singing in Rocketman is 'terrifying' as he can't 'hold a tune'.

Hardy has been cast as Elton John in a new biopic about the musician: the film will chronicle the life and career of the superstar.

It was announced last year that Hardy had landed the role, but the British actor admits that he is worried about the singing side of the project.

When asked if he would sing in the movie by the Wall Street Journal, the actor said:"Yeah, I hope so. Otherwise I'll have probably failed, right?

"But that's terrifying me. I can't hold a tune to save my life. God knows how I'm going to do that."

"But then I couldn't cage fight before I'd gotten in with Warrior. And I still can't. I'm not supposed to be a cage fighter. I'm only playing one."

Michael Gracey will be in the director's chair for Rocketman, as he makes his feature film debut. Lee Hall has penned the screenplay.

Hardy returned to the big screen over the weekend with Locke, and he has also completed work on The Drop, Child 44 and Mad Max: Fury Road.

No release date for Rocketman has yet been announced.
