Tulip Fever

Tulip Fever marks the return of Justin Chadwick to the director's chair in what will be his first feature film since Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom and it is great to see him back.

The movie is based on the novel by Deborah Moggach and has been adapted for the big screen by Tom Stoppard.

The director has brought together a fantastic cast as Alicia Vikander, Christoph Waltz, Dane DeHaan, Holliday Grainger, Jack O'Connell, Zach Galifianakis, Dame Judi Dench, Matthew Morrison, Tom Hollander, and Cara Delevingne are all on board - it really is a very impressive line-up.

Oscar winners Vikander and Waltz will share the screen for the first time and I am excited to see them work together - they will be playing husband and wife in the film.

Set in 17th century Amsterdam, Tulip Fever follows a married woman (Vikander) who begins a passionate affair with an artist (DeHaan) hired to paint her portrait. The lovers gamble on the booming market for tulip bulbs as a way to raise money to run away together.

We have already been treated to the first trailer for the film and Tulip Fever is promising to be an exciting period romance.

Vikander is one of the most in demand actresses around and Tulip Fever is just one of the movies that she has on the horizon; she has also completed work on Jason Bourne, The Light Between Oceans, and Submergence.

Tulip Fever is released 24th February 2017.
