Farmiga is back as Lorraine for the highly anticipated sequel to The Conjuring, which hit the big screen back in 2013.

The movie sees the actress reunite with Patrick Wilson - who is reprising the role as husband Ed Warren - and filmmaker James Wan.

And Farmiga reveals that the visions that Lorraine sees will be explored and she will see that ability put under pressure this time around.

Speaking to Collider, the actress said: "I think the audience is very curious about what exactly she saw the last time. And we're going to explore that. We're going to see her psychic abilities challenged this time around.

"Which will be incredibly disconcerting for this dynamic duo because they rely on her. It's all about what she senses and what she picks up on. So that will be something that they're challenged by."

The Conjuring was one of the best films to hit the big screen in 2013 and it is the horror film that I cannot wait to see this year - I really hope that it can live up to its predecessor.

A terrific cast has been assembled as Farmiga and Wilson are joined by Franka Potente, Frances O'Connor, and Maria Doyle Kennedy.

This is the first feature film for Wan since the huge success of Fast & Furious 7 and the first time that he has tackled a horror project since the success of the first film.

As for Farmiga, we are going to be seeing plenty of her on the big screen this year as she has already completed work on Burn Your Maps, and Special Correspondents.

The Conjuring 2 is released 17th June.
