Orlando Bloom stars in Retaliation

Demolition worker Malky (Orlando Bloom) revisits his tragic past in new movie Retaliation, when his latest assignment sees him tasked with tearing down the church where he was molested by a priest as a young boy.

Taking his opportunity to eradicate the past, he makes his desires to destroy the place of his trauma abundantly clear with his physical and ferocious handling of the task at hand.

When the past rears its ugly head however, and Malky recognises the now-elderly priest at a local pub, the emotional man is sent into a tailspin where he’s forced to choose between taking revenge against the child predator, or going down a different path altogether.

You can see the trailer for the film below, which is set to debut for British audiences later this month (March 2021):

Also starring Janet Montgomery and Anne Reid, this emotional film is directed by Ludwig and Paul Shammasian, with Geoff Thompson serving as writer.

Thompson's script was inspired by his own real-life experiences, leading the way to what some have already described as Bloom's finest performance in his career to-date.

Head of Global Syndication and International Film Distribution at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, Vibha Chopra, said: "We are very excited to bring Retaliation to a wide audience in the UK this March. With cinemas sadly closed in this moment, Retaliation offers a critically-acclaimed and important movie for film lovers to watch at home.

"I was blown away by Orlando Bloom's performance, and we're proud to be able to bring it to people's homes.

"We're excited to be partnering with an exciting range of Premium Video on Demand platforms and to be a part of film culture in these challenging times.”

Strangely enough, the film was actually first released all the way back in 2017.

It’s a shame it’s taken this long for it to reach British shores, but we can now be sure that we’re going to be able to strap in for one of the most emotional and inspiring stories of the cinematic modern era.

Retaliation is released digitally across the UK on Friday, March 26th, 2021.
