Zootropolis

Zootropolis is the fifty-fifth feature film from Walt Disney Animations Studios and is a movie that has been met with critical acclaim.

Directed by Bryon Howard, Rich Moore, and Jared Bush, the movie continues the Disney success as Frozen, Wreck-It-Ralph, and Big Hero 6 have all been critical and commercial hits in recent years.

Zootropolis follows Captain America: Civil War across the $1 billion mark and is the second highest-grossing film of 2016 so far.

It is currently the twenty-sixth highest-grossing film of all time, but is closing in on the total of The Dark Knight and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

Zootropolis is only the fourth animation feature to gross over $1 billion; following in the footsteps of Frozen, Minions, and Toy Story 3 in recent years.

2016 has been a fantastic year for Disney so far as it has the three highest grossing films of the year; Captain America: Civil War, Zootropolis, and The Jungle Book.

So far, The Jungle Book has grossed over $895 million and still has a chance of joining Civil War and Zootropolis in the $1 billion club.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Deadpool round off the top five having taken $871 million and $772 million respectfully.

Zootropolis is the first of two Disney films that will be released in 2016, Moana will be released later this year and will star the voice talents of Dwayne Johnson and Auli'i Cravalho.
