Scarlett Johansson is set to have a very busy 2014 as she has a whole host of exciting film projects on the horizon.

Her is one of Johansson’s movies that just about everyone is talking about as her performance is being praised left, right and centre… but we never see the actress on the big screen.

Johansson is set to lend her voice to the character Samantha - an operation system - in the latest film by Spike Jonze as she joins forces with Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara and Chris Pratt.

The brand new trailer for the film has been released and we have it for you to take a look at:

Her marks the live action feature film return for Jonze for the first time since the fantastic Where The Wild Things Are - a movie that you really should check out if you have not seen it. The movie also marks the solo screenwriting debut for Jonze.

Her is a movie that is already winning over the critics as well as being in the middle of some awards controversy. The Hollywood Foreign Press has deemed Johansson’s performance ineligible for a Best Actress Golden Globe; despite the fact that she picked up a Best Actress gong at the Rom Film Festival.

Set in the Los Angeles of the slight future, Her follows Theodore Twombly, a complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching, personal letters for other people.

Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he becomes intrigued with a new, advanced operating system, which promises to be an intuitive entity in its own right, individual to each user.

Upon initiating it, he is delighted to meet 'Samantha,' a bright, female voice, who is insightful, sensitive and surprisingly funny. As her needs and desires grow, in tandem with his own, their friendship deepens into an eventual love for each other.

If you are looking for a unique and moving love story to enjoy on the big screen, then look no further than Her - it could be a major awards force by the time the Oscar roll around.

Her is released 24th January 2014.
