Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings – September 3rd

This is Marvel’s next movie to release, and one that will really signify that Phase 4 is here. Shang-Chi has excited fans for months, and in only a matter of days we will be able to see how this film fits into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

When Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) is drawn into the dark world of the Ten Rings organisation, he must confront his past and focus his mind in order to find a way out.

Many fans are excited for this movie not just due to its new characters, but also because of an old one, thought to be forgotten: Abomination. Everyone seems eager to find out why he’s involved, and of course, what kind of hero Shang-Chi will be.

Annette – September 3rd

Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard star together in this musical drama about two parents who realise that their baby isn’t as innocent as they thought.

Henry (Driver) is a stand-up comedian, his wife Ann is an opera singer; the two live in the spotlight and, after their baby Annette is born, they find their lives harder to bear.

Their little girl has an exceptional yet concerning gift, and Henry and Ann must figure out what to do before it is too late.

Annette is a story about fame, family and fear, told in an interesting way.

Malignant – September 10th

Directed by horror hero James Wan, Malignant is an upcoming movie about a woman who realises that her dreams aren’t just in her head...

Madison (Annabelle Wallis) is tormented by the shocking visions in her head, containing images of gruesome, bloody murders; the real panic comes when she understands that these gory ‘dreams’ are in fact part of her waking reality.

Wan has delivered some stunning horrors over the years, including films from both the Saw and The Conjuring franchises; no doubt that Malignant will simultaneously wow and terrify audiences.

Copshop – September 10th

Frank Grillo and Gerard Butler star together in this action-packed movie from director Joe Carnahan.

Con artist Teddy (Grillo) is on the run from a lethal assassin (Butler), and decides his best option if to get arrested, thinking that will protect him from Bob, who is on the hunt for his scent.

When Bob, the assassin, turns up in the same police station after also being arrested, a ticking time bomb begins until the two end up in a deadly gunfight in the middle of the precinct.

Grillo and Butler appear to be a great match for this movie, and soon we will see if their characters make it out of that police station alive.

Gunpowder Milkshake – September 17th

Karen Gillan (Doctor Who, Jumanji franchise, Guardians of the Galaxy) leads an all-female gang of assassins in this fiery movie set to release in just a couple of weeks’ time.

In order to save a young girl, a deadly assassin called Sam (Gillan) must reunite with her mother and her killer associates, and fight back against a crime syndicate who has the power to take everything from them.

Gillan has proved she has the gall for action, so Gunpowder Milkshake is already on a high pedestal; the movie’s trailer boasts a great cast of women who show that they can more than take care of themselves.

Prisoners of the Ghostland – September 17th

Nicolas Cage is back in yet another movie, and we could not be more excited. Starring alongside Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Cage will be a man on a mission in this upcoming feature.

In a dangerous frontier city of Samurai Town, a ruthless bank robber (Cage) gets a free card out of prison when a wealthy warlord’s granddaughter goes missing. The prisoner is offered total freedom - if he brings back the runaway.

Strapped into a leather suit that will explode in five days’ time, unless he finds who he’s looking for, our hero makes tracks to hunt down the missing woman.

The trailer boasts Cage’s skills as an actor and fighter, and with the movie looking so impressive, it seems it will be an exciting one to watch.

No Time To Die – September 30th

The next James Bond movie is finally on its way; after waiting well over a year for No Time To Die, this September will see Daniel Craig back in action as Bond himself, in one of the most exciting movies of the month.

Madeleine Swan (Léa Seydoux) is still by James’ side, but it seems that perhaps she hasn’t been entirely honest with him. While Bond ponders over his lover’s intentions, a villain, whose interest in technology is worrying, threatens to end the spy once and for all.

Introducing Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) as baddie Safin, No Time To Die celebrates an incredible cast, story and visuals; it seems that the upcoming instalment in the franchise might be worth the wait.
