Star Trek Into Darkness

Star Trek Into Darkness

Star Trek Into Darkness is one of the movies that we have been super excited about here at FemaleFirst and we now have less than a week until it hits the big screen.

It was back in 2009 when J.J. Abrams sprinkled his magic touch over this much loved franchise to breath new life into it and bring these iconic characters to a new generation.

Four years later and Abrams is back in the director's chair as he delivers a movie that promises to be bigger and better than the first.

While there are a few more days until the movie is released we have some great new clips to wet your appetite.

Chris Pine is back as Captain Kirk while Zachary Quinto will be reprising the role of Spock.

Over the course of the film we are going to be seeing their relationship and friendship develop as well as be tested.

There are plenty of familiar faces to watch out for as Simon Pegg, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin and John Cho are all back.

There is one huge addition to the cast list and that is, of course, Benedict Cumberbatch.

The role of John Harrison is Cumberbatch's biggest movie part and is set to send his star rocket even further.

If you haven't seen the trailer then you really should check out as Cumberbatch has a really menacing presence throughout and he looks set to be a truly terrific villain.

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organisation has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one-man weapon of mass destruction.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

There are a whole host of fantastic blockbusters heading our way this summer and Star Trek Into Darkness is one of those stand out projects.

Star Trek Into Darkness is released 9th May
