The Double

The Double

The Double is set to be one of the movies not to miss at the BFI London Film Festival, as Richard Ayoade returns to the director's chair.

The actor turned filmmaker made quite a splash with his feature film directorial debut Submarine, and now he is back with a new comedy.

Ayoade has teamed up with Avi Korine to pen the screenplay, and the movie is based on the novella of the same name by Fyodor Dostoyevesky.

And we have the first teaser trailer for the film for you to take a quick look at:

A terrific cast has been assembled as Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska join forces for the first time.

Eisenberg found success this summer with Now You See Me, but The Double will see him return to a smaller and slightly more off the wall project.

As for Wasikowska, she is an exciting young talent who continues to move from genre to genre showing off her versatility as an actress.

The pair are joined on the cast list by Wallace Shawn, Noah Taylor and James Fox.

The comedy follows a man who is driven insane by the appearance of his doppleganger.

The movie was premiered at the Toronto Film Festival over the weekend, and we will be seeing it at BFI London Film Festival next month.

Richard Ayoade has been making a name for himself both in front of an behind the camera in recent years, and The Double looks set to only cement him further as a talent to watch.

The Double is released next year.
