The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby is a movie that is set to light up the big screen next week as director Baz Luhrmann delivers his vibrant adaptation of the well loved novel.

The film is an adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel of the same name and Luhrmann is set to brig the 1029's to live in fine style.

If you are looking forward to this movie as much as we are then you are in for a treat as we have a couple of great new clips for you to check out:

Leonardo DiCaprio is back as he takes on the iconic role of Jay Gatsby in a movie that sees him reunite with Luhrmann.

The pair worked together for the first time on Romeo & Juliet and this is their first film since that success.

The Great Gatsby is the second of three movies for the actor this year as we have already seen him in Django Unchained and he will be starring in The Wolf of Wall Street.

However Carey Mulligan is someone who has not been seen on the big screen of late as The Great Gatsby is her first role since Shame last year.

She will take on the role of Daisy Buchanan as she works with both Luhrmann and DiCaprio for the very first time.

Joel Edgerton, Lisa Fisher and Tobey Maguire make up the rest of the fantastic cast list.

The Great Gatsby follows Fitzgerald-like, would-be writer Nick Carraway as he leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz, bootleg kings, and sky-rocketing stocks.

Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan.

It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super rich, their illusions, loves and deceits.

As Nick bears witness, within and without of the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

It's good to see Luhrmann back in the director's chair and The Great Gatsby promises to be one of the most lavish looking movies of the summer.

The Great Gatsby is released 16th May
