The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is one of the movies that I am personally very excited about this autumn.

I am a huge fan of the novels and thought that the first book was wonderfully and faithfully adapted.

So, I am expecting more of the same when Katniss Everdeen returns in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire; and if this trailer is anything to go by it seems I am going to get exactly what I have asked for.

This longer trailer gives us a look at more of the characters, as well as a first glimpse of the Quarter Quell arena... enjoy!!!

Jennifer Lawrence has won a Best Actress Oscar since we last saw her take on the role of Katniss Everdeen, but she is back to do battle once more.

After her antics in The Hunger Games, Katniss now finds herself a target for President Snow (Donald Sutherland) - it seems we are going to see more of his evil nature this time around.

And Sutherland is not the only familiar face on the cast list as Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks and Woody Harrelson are all back.

With the Quarter Quell we are introduced to a series of new tributes and Alan Ritchson, Amanda Plummer, Jeffrey Wright and Lynn Cohen are just some of the new faces to watch out for.

Of course, the big new additions come in the form of Sam Claflin and Jena Malone as they take on the roles of Finnick Odair and Johanna Mason. Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman is also on board as Plutarch Havensbee.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark.

Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts.

Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.

The Hunger Games was a huge success when it was released last summer and Catching Fire promises to be bigger and better than its predecessor.

The Hunger Games Catching Fire is released 21st November.
