The Magnificent Seven is set to be one of the September movies not to miss as this iconic film has been remade for a new generation.

The Magnificent Seven

The Magnificent Seven

The movie is based on the 1960 film of the same name, which was a remake of the Japanese film Seven Samurai, and sees Antoine Fuqua back in the director's chair.

Fuqua has brought us movies such as Training Day, Olympus Has Fallen, and The Equalizer in recent years but this is his first feature since Southpaw last year.

Fuqua is one of the most exciting directors around it is always great when one of his movie projects is on the horizon - I cannot wait to see him put his own stamp on this classic Western.

We are going to have to wait until the end of September before The Magnificent Seven hits the big screen, but the brand new trailer for the film has arrived. Take a look:

The movie sees Fuqua reunite with Denzel Washington for the first time since their success with The Equalizer. The Oscar-winner takes on the central role of bounty hunter Sam Chisolm.

Ethan Hawke, who has also worked with Fuqua on Training Day and Brooklyn's Finest is also on the cast list as sharpshooter Goodnight Robicheaux.

Chris Pratt, Vincent D'Onofrio, Byung-hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Martin Sensmeier complete the Magnificent Seven as gambler Josh Farraday, trapper Jack Horne, assassin Billy Rocks, outlaw Vasquez, and Comanche warrior Red Harvest.

The cast list is completed by Peter Sarsgaard, Haley Bennett, Matt Bomer, and Luke Grimes.

With the sleepy town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Sarsgaard), the desperate townspeople employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns - Sam Chisolm (Washington), Josh Farraday (Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Hawke), Jack Horne (D'Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Lee), Vasquez (Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Sensmeier).

As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.

The Magnificent Seven is released 23rd September.
