Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of the most exciting actors around and he is back on the big screen this week with new drama The Walk.

The Walk

The Walk

The Walk sees Gordon-Levitt team up with filmmaker Robert Zemeckis for the first time as they bring the incredible story of high-wire artist Philippe Petit to the big screen.

The actor is set to take on the role of Petit, who dreamed of walking between the towers of the World Trade Centre on a high-wire.

There's just a day to go until The Walk hits cinema screens and we have two great new clips for you to take a look at:

Zemeckis has brought us movies such as Back To The Future, Forrest Gump and Cast Away during his career and The Walk is his first feature film since Flight back in 2013. As well as being in the director's chair, Zemeckis has also teamed up with Christopher Browne to adapt Petit's book To Reach the Clouds.

A terrific cast has been assembled for the film, as Gordon-Levitt is joined by Ben Kingsley, Charlotte Le Bon, James Badge Dale, and Ben Schwartz.

The Walk is the true story of a young dreamer, Philippe Petit, and a band of unlikely recruits who together achieve the impossible: an illegal wire walk in the immense void between the World Trade Centre towers.

With little more than nerve and blind ambition, Petit and his ragtag crew overcome daunting physical obstacles, betrayals, countless close calls and overwhelming odds to beat the system and execute their mad plan.

The Walk is just one of the autumn movies that has been surrounded in Oscar whispers and it is great to see Gordon-Levitt back in a great central role.

The Walk is released 2nd October.
