Chloe Grace Moretz is one of the most exciting young actresses working in Hollywood at the moment, as she has a varied string of movies under her belt so far.

She is back on the big screen this week as she stars in the remake of horror classic Carrie.

Kimberly Peirce is in the director's chair for the film, while Moretz is joined on the cast list by the fantastic Julianne Moore.

The pair will play mother and daughter in a re-imagining of the popular Stephen King tale... it is a film that kicks off a very busy period for the actress.

We are going to be seeing plenty of Moretz movies next year, Laggies being just one of them.

Laggies sees Moretz team up with director Lynn Shelton, while Keira Knightly, Sam Rockwell and Tiya Sircar are also on the cast list.

The movie will follow Megan (Knightley) who befriends a group of youngsters as she tries to decide what she wants from her life.

Laggies is a different pace of film for Moretz after Kick Ass 2 and Carrie, and will show a different side to her as an actress.

But she will return to the action/thriller genre in autumn of next year as she will star in The Equalizer.

The movie see Denzel Washington reunite with director Antoine Fuqua - the pair worked together on Training Day.

The movie is based on the hit TV series of the same name and follows retired intelligence office Robert McCall (Washington) who turns into a vigilante for the helpless. But he becomes a target for the Russian mafia when he help hooker Teri (Moretz).

Melissa Leo and Marton Csokas make up a very exciting cast list.

Moretz is also involved in the adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel Dark Places.

Gilles Paquet-Brenner has penned the screenplay and is in the director's chair for a film that sees Charlize Theron take the lead role.

The movie follows a woman who is forced to confront the brutal killing of her family when she comes face to face with a gang that solve notorious crimes.

Moretz and Theron are joined by Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks and Andrea Roth on the cast list.

Moretz is currently working on another book adaptation, in the form of If I Stay. The film is based on the novel by Gayle Forman and will be directed by R.J Cutler.

The story chronicles a fatal car crash involving seventeen year old Mia, played by Moretz, and her boyfriend.

Moretz has taken on a wide variety of roles in recent years from blockbusters to horror to action movies, and that trend is set to continue into 2014.

Carrie is released 29th November.
