Vikander has a whole host of movies set to hit the big screen in the next year, starting this week with the war drama Testament of Youth. She really is an actress to watch out for during the course of the year.

Testament of Youth is a big screen adaptation of the World War I memoir by Vera Brittain and will see Vikander take on the role of Brittain in the film. Directed by James Kent, Testament of Youth is Brittain's recollection of the war, how she came of age during the conflict, and those that she lost.

This is another major leading role for Vikander as she continues to make a name for herself, and she is joined on the cast list by Kit Harington, Hayley Atwell, Dominic West, Anna Chancellor, and Miranda Richardson.

And we are going to be seeing plenty of Vikander as we head into 2015, as she has three films in January alone - we are also going be seeing her in Ex Machina and Son of a Gun.

Ex Machina is one of the early science fiction films of the year, and one of the films in the genre that I have admit I am really looking forward to. The movie will see her team up with Oscar Isaac and Domhnall Gleeson as writer Alex Garland makes his feature film directorial debut.

The movie will see Vikander take on the role of an Ava an A.I who was created as part of an experiment. She is also set to share the screen with Ewan McGregor and Brenton Thwaites in action film Son of a Gun.

Seventh Son is a movie that has been pushed back in the schedule a couple of times, but it looks set to be released at the end of March. Directed by Sergey Bodrov, Seventh Son is an adaptation of the book The Spook's Apprentice by Joseph Delaney.

Ben Barnes is set to take on the central role of Tom Ward and he and Vikander are joined on the cast list by Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, Kit Harington, and Djimon Hounsou.

This summer will see Vikander team up with filmmaker Guy Ritchie for the first time as he returns to the director's chair with The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

The movie is based on the sixties television series and promises to be one of the most interesting films of the summer. Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer will take over the roles of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, while Hugh Grant, Jared Harris, and Elizabeth Debicki will also star alongside Vikander.

And as if all that wasn't enough, Vikander has also completed work on Tulip Fever, The Light Between Oceans, and an untitled John Wells projects, which all look set to hit the big screen this year.

She is also set to star work on The Danish Girl, which is an adaptation of the novel by David Ebershoff. Tom Hooper is set to be in the director's chair while Eddie Redmayne and Amber Heard are also on the cast list.

I have been a fan of Vikander ever since I saw her give a terrific performance in A Royal Affair back in 2012, and this looks set to be one of the biggest years for the young star.

Testament of Youth is released 16th January.
