Lock Up Stage lineup accounced

The line up for one of the most popular stages at the Reading & Leeds festival, the Lock Up Stage, is finally announced.

Featuring the best names in punk, rock and ska the stage is always a favourite of festival goers and this year's line up look to continue that trend. Headlining are The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Descendants. They are joined by the likes of King Blues, The Bronx and Flogging Molly.

Since forming 21 years ago, The Mighty Mighty Bosstomes have toured the world and taken their self-created ska-core sound to millions of fans.  Arguably the founding fathers of this scene, they’ve continued to entertain countless fans with their high-energy live shows fronted by the inimitable Dicky Barrett.

Few bands can claim to have influenced and inspired so many artists in their time as the Descendants.  They took punk and pop into the mosh-pit in 1978 and have continued to fuse catchy melodies with raw energy ever since.  These Californian legends will close the night in style.

Other bands announced on the bill for this stage include Capdown, Leftover Crack, Face to Face, Hot Water Music, Comeback Kid, Boysetsfire, Bedouin Soundclash, OFF!, Sreet Dogs, Teenage Bottlerocket, The Black Pacific, The Menzingers, Your Demise, Title Fight, Sharks, Spy Catcher and Mouthwash.

Mike Davies, presenter of the Punk Road Show on Radio 1 and curator of the stage commented "2011 is the year that Punk Rock broke out... again. There are so many great groups around and I truly believe that we have managed to get 24 of the best bands possible to play on the Lock Up Stage. It's guaranteed to be the best weekend of the summer."

The Reading & Leeds Festival take place on Europe’s biggest dual site, Little John’s Farm in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds.   Held Friday 26th August - Sunday 28th August 2011, the likes of My Chemical Romance, The Strokes, Pulp, Muse, Beady Eye, Jane's Addiction, 2 Many DJs and The Streets have already been confirmed with many more still to be announced.
