Taking to the Pyramid stage on Saturday, June 27, the announcement comes after West's release of several new tracks including Sir Paul McCartney collaboration 'Only One'.

Earlier this year, Foo Fighters were also announced as headliners for the Pyramid stage on Friday, June 26, whilst Lionel Richie is taking a slot during the Sunday, June 28 proceedings.

Last summer saw Kanye headline two nights at London's Wireless Festival, but there's been tremendous debate about who should become Glastonbury's main act for Saturday in recent weeks when big names were ruled out.

Ed Sheeran downplayed the likelihood of his close friend Taylor Swift taking one of the major spots, but those who have expressed interest include Take That and Noel Gallagher.
