Christina Aguilera releases ‘You Lost Me’, the new single from her acclaimed, future-facing fourth album ‘Bionic’ on September 19th through RCA.
Co-written by Australian dance-pop singer Sia Furler and her producer Samuel Dixon, alongside Christina herself, ‘You Lost Me’ is a tender ballad laced with passion.
Sitting in sharp contrast to Bionic’s raucous first single ‘Not Myself Tonight’, ‘You Lost Me’ begins with a soft piano accompaniment, letting Christina’s extraordinary vocals shine through. The luscious, lovelorn track then sees the pop maverick emotionally detailing a relationship breakdown after being cheated on by a lover.
“I feel like our world’s been infected/and somehow you left me neglected,” laments Christina, as the track glides towards sumptuous blues inflected jazz standard territory.
