Eminem back in the studio

Reports have surfaced again that legendary Detroit Hip-Hop star Eminem is back in the studio recording after leaving fans with bated breath for the last four years. The last album released by Em was Encore, but since that release in 2004, Eminem has battled with numerous personal issues. He lost his best friend, Proof, in 2006 and has been embroiled in an on and off relationship with his estranged wife.

Eminem has also fallen victim to his Mother penning a tell all book about being a parent to one of Hip-Hop’s biggest stars which has also put a strain on the rapper. There has been no indication as to when we may see this album but insiders at Shady records say the album is in the works.

Fifty gets access

Courts have granted 50 Cent some time with his only son Marquis next month. Both the rapper and his former girlfriend and the Mother of his son Marquis had to commit to drug tests in a Long Island family court to encourage this visit. Since the house where his son and his Mother burned down. Curtis Jackson has not been able to see his son and it was left in the hands of the court to decide upon visitation after both parents filed suits against each other.

The Judge presiding over the case has granted the multi platinum selling artist sole access to Marquis from 3-12 of August. In relation to the drug testing Shaniqua Tompkins actually failed the test as she proved positive for opiates but this was allegedly down to cough medicine she was taking which includes codeine.

Diddy show gets nominated for EMMYS

Sean Combs who stared in the Broadway production and the TV adaptation of Raisin in the Sun as well as executive producing is celebrating after the movie being nominated for three EMMYS. The drama broke all records when it aired on TV earlier this year and being nominated in three categories proves how appreciated Raisin in the Sun was.

The play by Lorraine Hansberry debuted on Broadway in 1959 and focused around an African American family residing in Chicago. The lead role at that time being played by Sydney Poitier whose shoes were later filled by Sean Combs in the role of Walter Lee Younger.

Akon has to show up in court

Famed singer Akon has been ordered by a Judge to appear in court on August 5th after failing to show up in the second degree harassment case brought against him after throwing a concert goer into the crowd at an even last Summer. Anthony Smith threw an object at the performer while on stage and Akon asked for the person who had thrown the object to be pointed out and then had a security guard bring him to the stage. A woman was injured in the melee that ensued and Smith went a head and sued the singer and his company.

After only appearing in court once to plead not guilty Judge Harold D Epstein has requested the singers presence in early August.
