Liam and Noel Gallagher are a pair who are never fair from a war of words, and this time it’s a poor old journalist who have come up against the foul-mouthed siblings.

After a journalist from the Manchester Evening News remarked that she was "smouldering" about the decision to let Oasis "play in my beloved [Heaton Park] park".

The band, who raised around £6 million over the three gigs in their hometown dedicated the song, Cigarettes & Alcohol to Angela Epstein during one of the shows, to which she responded in another column by saying that she; "didn't even know he could read".

However, clearly wanting the last word, Noel then got his fingers tapping in his own blog and described the journalist as "a ginger whinger from the MEN who has written a couple of s**ty little pieces over the last few days".

He said: "She claimed that we - and by that I mean YOU - had no 'right' to 'come up here' from London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Tokyo, LA, Milan, all over the world in fact, to 'her' wonderful piece of England and enjoy ourselves and leave a little bit of mud. What a joyless old husk!!"

Oh Noel, I love your bluntness.
