Picking up fans all across the globe, the young artist looks to be riding an incredible wave of success, and we couldn't have been happier to catch up with him to chat all about it...

For those who may be new to you and your music, how best would you describe yourself as an artist?

I would say I am one of those people who just love to connect to people, doing something I love. Can't lie, love a ballad so expect big, powerful, emotive stuff from me!

You competed in Britain's Got Talent last year and reached the finals - how has your life changed since then?

It's almost unrecognisable! I am up and down and in and out of the country, performing and writing songs that take me to incredible places whilst getting love and support from all over the world. Last year I was shredding and photocopying!

You're perhaps most well-known for your take on Robyn's 'Dancing On My Own' - what is it about that track that you love so much?

The first time I sang it, I got my Mum and Sister to come and listen to what I recorded and they cried! I knew a track that I connected with this much, that seemed to resonate so highly with other people was a no brainer to get it heard by as many people as I could!

Have you heard what Robyn herself thinks of your rendition?

Still never heard from her! Have tried tweets and stuff but nothing yet! Would love to thank her as she probably has no idea how a song she wrote has completely changed my life!

You filmed and released a music video for the song - what was that experience like?

Unreal! To walk into a warehouse full of 50 extras, cast and crew, directors, massive film cameras... It was amazing! Really felt like a 'real life recording artist'. Swear I am going to wake up soon and be back in the office!

How have you found the response from fans for the track and video?

My fans have been incredible since day one... Literally the only reason I get to do what I do! I love every single one of them and I am still being discovered by people! Just want to share what I do with everyone!

It's done incredibly well in the charts - how does it feel to be a successful artist in such a competitive and tough industry?

To be in the charts and hanging around with such huge names in the industry just feels like a complete privilege! I can't even explain how it feels, complete dream come true.

Have you had any strange fan messages or gifts since hitting the spotlight?

I don't think I dare go into some of the messages I have received! Had some really thoughtful gifts actually, it's so kind of people to take the time out just because they love my music!

Recently you signed to Capitol Records US - how have they been to work with so far?

Incredible! Couldn't have asked for a better home for me. Every single person in that building makes me feel welcome and valued and is behind my project that means more than I can say. Plenty more work to come!

You're working on your debut album - what sort of creative process have you been going through for that?

I have worked with a lot of people, all very different creatives, helping me hone my craft and discover myself as an artist and the record I want to make. It's such an amazing process seeing and hearing the tracks that people could eventually be listening to on my debut album!

What have been some of your favourite experiences in your career to-date?

Where do I even start?! Signing with Capitol and having my Mum and Dad there for it! My first headline shows in LA and London! Recording songs in the Capitol Records studio into Frank Sinatra's microphone whilst being accompanied by Nat King Cole's piano! Becoming a top 10 artist... All so sick!

What should we expect from you in the coming weeks and months?

I am continuing to promote my single 'Dancing On My Own', going over to LA at the end of the week to do some songwriting and a performance at Apple and later in October, I support the amazing Jamie Lawson on his UK tour! Plenty to keep busy...
