Albarn Hates First And Fourth Blur Records.... Blur frontman Damon Albarn is amazed the band became British pop legends - because their first two albums are "awful".With rivals Oasis, The Country House hitmakers ruled the UK charts in the 1990s, but Albarn insists he hates 1991 Lp Leisure and 1995's The Great Escape.Albarn - more recently the frontman of cartoon band Gorillaz - says, "I've made hundreds of mistakes. I've made two bad records. The first record, which is awful, and The Great Escape, which was messy."The singer claims the Kaiser Chiefs - part of the new breed of British rock bands - are in danger of falling into the same trap.He adds, "The Kaiser Chiefs' new record sounds a bit like The Great Escape in that it sounds a bit empty. Sometimes records are like that if you try too hard to repeat your success."
