Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy

Fall Out Boy - the cornerstone of all things emo, could have caused a national crisis after front man Patrick Stump has confirmed he is no longer working with the group and doesn’t think they will ever return from the hiatus they announced last November.

So it looks as thought we might all have to start drawing tears on our faces with eyeliner ‘in mourning’ of a band who shaped many a teenager’s ‘angst’ years after Paddy told Spin magazine: "I'm not in Fall Out Boy right now. But one way or another, the band will always be around. Steven Tyler isn't in Aerosmith anymore, but his gravestone will probably say something about Aerosmith.

“Whether we play again or not, I don't know. If we do, it will be for the right reasons. If we don't, it will also be for the right reasons. I'm really not worried about Fall Out Boy. I'm so psyched about where I'm at right now, recording this solo album."

Fall Out Boy By Andy Squire

Not QUITE sure he should be comparing himself to Steven Tyler to be quite honest, nor thinking about his God-like obituary, but either way, his announcement led to  bandmates Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman also revealed they are no longer in the group via Twitter. Where else?

Drummer Andy tweeted: "I quit too." Whilst guitarist Joe added on his twitter page: "I just did interviews with Span Magazine, Rabbling Stone and Blunder about how much quitting I done. (sic)"

Okay, so whether or not their Tweets are 100% sincere or whether they’re just taking a leaf out of the ‘Publicity Stunts By Katie Price’ book. We don’t know as yet, but all the comments have come after star of the group, Pete Wentz admitted (via Twitter) he 'can’t imagine' playing with Fall Out Boy again.

He tweeted: "A hiatus is forever until you get lonely or old. I don't plan on either. Can't imagine playing in FOB again." He later added on his personal blog: 'As a band we grew apart. Letting go of this giant part of my life has been hard."

A spokesperson would not comment on the band’s future, but we have to admit, we’re pretty devastated. Are you?
