Music videos have been such a hotbed of creativity since the rise of MTV, but still even now, some find it hard to break into the industry proper, not just YouTube.

For those budding cinematographers, editors and make-up aces, The Hurtwood Prize is for you, offering a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to break in to the music video and film industries.

Having been given four tracks by Polydor (one each from The Maccabees, Spector, Lawson & Totally Enormous Extinct Dionsaurs) Hurtwood is inviting youngsters aged between 16 and 21 to shoot their own music videos for the them. Those will be judged by a panel of industry luminaries and the 10 finalists will get and in-depth and intensive film workshop at private school Hurtwood’s top of the line facilities.

The winner will then get the fantastic opportunity to shoot the bands official music video and hopefully their foot on the creative career ladder.

With the contest closing on 6th August, entrants from all areas of video are welcome, be them shot on a mobile phone or animated with lumps of clay.
