Janet claims Virgin 'lost touch'Janet Jackson quit her Virgin record label after she felt the bosses at Virgin had lost interest in her career after the poor sales of her recent two albums, 'Damita Jo' and '20 Y.O'. She blames the label's executives for the poor handling of her previous records. Jackson said: "Not to badmouth Virgin, 'cause it was my family for a very long time, but they kind of just lost touch. To only have support of the urban department and for those two albums to sell what they did, there's a lot to say for that."The superstar has now signed with Island Def Jame, where the head of urban music is her longterm boyfriend Jermaine Dupri. Jackson has said it was the company's teamwork that helped her to launch her 10th studio disc 'Discipline'. "They all come together, and one department knows what the other department is doing. You need to really move forward. It's teamwork, and that's what Virgin lost."
