British pop star Kate Nash sympathises with troubled singer Amy Winehouse, because she understands how easy it is to become addicted to drugs in the "dark, seedy" music business. The Foundations hitmaker, 20, claims drug taking in the music industry is "so easy", and she is frequently offered illegal substances.Nash says, "I can totally see why people like me turn to drugs. That's why I'd never criticise Amy Winehouse for what she's going through. I understand why she's gone that way - it would be so easy for me to get my hands on any drug I wanted."This business has a seriously dark, seedy side. You have people on the payroll whose job it is to get you drugs. But I don't want to go down that road. I can't do it. I don't want to be some prima donna using drugs to keep me sane."You have those moments where you'd rather be anywhere else but where you are, and be anyone else rather than yourself. In the end, I just decided to change my attitude and play music really loud to make me feel better".
