Maximo Park
Maximo Park had no choice but to turn away thousands of fans last night (March 25) from their charity gig in Newcastle.
The venue, Newcastle College Performance Academy simply wasn't big enough to hold the 2,500 people who queued around the block for a chance to see the band play. Its actual capacity is somewhere in the region of 400.
Despite being in aid of the No Surrender charity, the Graffiti hitmakers were forced to refuse entry to the vast majority of fans.
Those who were able to gain entry, also had the opportunity to buy a limited edition vinyl pressing of the band's latest single Wraithlike which can be downloaded for free from the official Maximo Park website.
The boys have also announced details of their next single, The Kids Are Sick Again, released on May 4 shortly before the release of the band's third album Quicken The Heart.
