Rockers METALLICA have announced plans to let their fans see them perform for just $10 (£5).

The band will play two gigs - one in Berlin, Germany on 12 September (08) and another at London's O2 Arena on 15 September (08) - and fans will be able to buy tickets at the special cut-price rate.

And all the money from ticket sales will be donated to charity.

The move is in celebration of the band's forthcoming album Death Magnetic, which is released next month (Sep08).

A statement from the group reads, "Because this is a celebration, tickets prices will be, shall we say, 'retro?' Only ten Euros for Berlin, five pounds in London! And the best part is that all the proceeds from the sale of tickets will be donated to local charities."

Only fans who are registered to Metallica's official fan sites will be eligible to buy tickets, and the orders will be limited to two per person. (LR/WNWCNM/ZN)
