Michael Jackson on stage

After facing constant criticism and attacks, Michael Jackson’s physician Conrad Murray is finally hitting back with allegations of his own. Murray’s lawyers have stated that it was Jackson’s skin doctor who was to blame for fuelling his drug addiction.

Dr. Murray will stand trial in May over allegations he administered the fatal dose of Propofol which led to Jackson's death in June 2009. He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter.

Last week, the medic's legal representatives requested fingerprint evidence to support suggestions the singer injected himself with the drug that killed him.

Now they are out to prove it was Jackson's longtime dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, who was responsible for getting the superstar hooked on painkiller Demerol.

According to TMZ.com, Klein administered 51 Demerol injections to his superstar client in the three months leading up to his death and Murray's lawyers have requested the skin doctor hand over all of his medical records.

The documents state: "Due to Mr. Klein's actions, Mr. Jackson became physiologically and psychologically dependent on Demerol."

The papers continue, "Dr. Klein is a relevant and highly material witness to the defence."
