Claims that Pete Doherty tried to commit suicide while in rehab are "totally untrue", say his manager has said. Johnny Jeannevol, the singer's minder, told the News of the World that Doherty took an overdose at the Clouds House clinic in Wiltshire. He said the Babyshambles frontman, who was upset over his break-up with model Kate Moss, was just sick from taking the pills. Manager Andy Boyd has also denied that Mr Jeannevol was Doherty's minder. The newspaper quoted Mr Jeannevol as saying: "Pete's been really wound up over Kate showing off her new man. "He saw an opportunity to take an overdose and took it. He told me he didn't know what the pills were but... took them all." "He doesn't care what drugs do to him - in fact, he likes finding out."

Doherty, 28, left the Clouds House rehab clinic last week after six weeks of treatment.

Last week, a court postponed sentencing Doherty for drug and motoring offences to allow him to tackle his drug addiction.

He has admitted driving illegally while in possession of crack cocaine, heroin, ketamine and cannabis in Kensington, west London, on 5 May.

Doherty's lawyer said his client would be able to finish a drug rehabilitation plan before appearing at West London's Magistrates' Court on 26 October.

The Babyshambles frontman has been warned to expect a jail term.
