Scotty McCreery
Scotty McCreedy is putting his music career on hold to finish his education.
The singer tells The Tennesseean newspaper he'll he heading off to college later this year (12).
Teenager McCreery has been balancing his sky-rocketing music career with his high school studies since he won the chance to appear on Idol at the end of 2010.
He accepts college professors might not be quite as co-operative at his school teachers.
He says, "That’s going to be a whole another monster. But we’re going to figure out a way to do it.
"It might take me 50 years to get a degree, but I want to get there and go to college."
