Smashing Pumpkins

Rocker Billy Corgan debuted his new Smashing Pumpkins line-up at a Hollywood show on Wednesday night (30Jun10).

Corgan hit the tiny Viper Room stage with bandmates Jeff Schroeder, Nicole Fiorentino and Mike Byrne for a fan-only pre-tour show.

The group will officially hit the road with a show in Cleveland, Ohio next week (beg05Jul10).

Only 200 fans were admitted to the Sunset Strip venue for the intimate showcase.

But the concert wasn't completely drama free - Corgan abandoned a ukulele rendition of Love Is the Sweetest Thing when hecklers jibed him by singing Tiny Tim's Tiptoe Through the Tulips.

As fans started hurling verbal abuse at each other, the singer put down the instrument and declared, "'I'm too old for this s**t."

But the show was a big hit, nonetheless, as Corgan and his bandmates ripped through Pumpkins classics and new songs.
