Oh dear, it looks like Kanye West isn’t the only US rapper who needs bringing down a peg or two… this time it’s our beloved Usher who’s gotten ideas well above his station.
In a new interview, Usher has ‘admitted’ that he’s already a “worldwide star” and is well on the way to becoming a “pop icon” like Michael Jackson. Erm, we like that song ‘Yeah’, but we don’t quite think you’re at Jacko level yet Usher.
Either way, he bragged; “I've been doing this 18 years now and my icon is well on its way. Michael was doing it for 50 years and that's something I'd like to grow towards. At the same time, I am one of a kind, a worldwide pop icon.”
Hmm, we know Jay-Z did say that Usher was “one of the guys who's in line to fill those [Jacko’s] huge shoes” but come on, noone can replace the King Of Pop, is anything Usher will have to settle for being the Prince Of Pop, or the Duke Of Pop.
