Wilson and Hanks
Rita Wilson has added her name to the long list of movie stars aiming for the music charts after recording a new folk-pop album.
The actress, who is married to Tom Hanks, will release AM/FM in February.
She went public with her musical plans during a surprise appearance at the Billboard/Hollywood Reporter Film & TV Music Conference on Tuesday.
The album will feature her versions of classic pop and folk-rock songs.
Wilson says, "So many people have tried to do it and came before me. I want people to think I deserve to be here, and not someone who woke up one morning and decided to make an album."
