Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert has opened up about the way in which some people treated him during the first time he took to the stage as lead singer for Queen.

That negative reaction however hasn't rattled him, and his advice to anyone who hates his addition to the group is simply to stay home.

"If I focused on that what would be the point? If there's somebody out there that feels really strongly that this isn't the same Queen then don't come.

"But if you don't come you're going to miss one hell of a show."

Adam also discussed his apprehension at the start about what he was going to do, and described Freddie Mercury as one of his heroes.

"There will only ever be one Freddie Mercury. There's no comparing. I can't get close to some of the things he did.

“But it’s not necessarily about that to me. It’s about getting on stage and singing amazing music and continuing the legacy of the band.”

Adam is this week to stay in London for some intensive rehearsals alongside guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor for their forthcoming US and Australian tour.

His third studio album will be put on hold so he can tour, but is expected to be released before the end of the year.
