Arcade Fire

Arcade Fire took the tram to a Blackpool gig in a strange disguise.

The 'Ready to Start' hitmakers played on Wednesday (27.11.13) at the British seaside resort's Empress Ballroom under the guise of The Reflektors - the pseudonym which they use to promote their new album 'Reflektor'.

Wearing the giant papier-mâché heads seen at their previous UK shows, BBC News reports the band boarded the local transport system to get to the gig.

They were greeted by fans when they got off and the crowd, wearing fancy dress for the occasion, walked through the town with a mariachi band, as Arcade Fire played the title track from their number one album.

The band recently issued a statement asking fans to "relax" about the formal and fancy dress code at their shows.

A statement posted on the band's Facebook page read: "To everyone really upset about us asking people to dress up at our shows... please relax. It's super not mandatory.

"It just makes for a more fun carnival when we are all in it together. So far these have been the best shows we have ever played. See you soon. Love, Arcade Fire."

Frontman Win Butler has hinted that the band will also play UK festivals next summer after their latest tour.
