Azealia Banks is never one to shy away from a confrontation, and has taken to her Twitter account to blast Kanye West for marrying into the Kardashian family.

With the suggestion from a follower that she could be as influential as Kanye, she replied: "Kanye lost all credibility when he became a Kardashian, I don't even look up to him anymore. I look past him..."

Banks added of the Kardashians: "They're cute and all, I think they have nice gowns", but said West was here "to do major cultural work", but had traded off for "trying to make bootleg Jay-Z moves."

Last year, Banks had spoken to French publication Skyrock about West and said: "I feel a little sad for hip-hop in 2015 because I think that... Aside from people like Kendrick Lamar and stuff like that, I think there's a huge emphasis on kind of tailoring yourself to these dominant, white social norms, and there's an emphasis on being accepted by white people or what I like to call 'The Big House'.

"I feel like there were artists like Kanye West, for example. Someone like Kanye West, when he first came out, it was a different thing, and now, he's really focused on, like, being accepted by, like, the white fashion world, and it's kind of like... It's a little confusing."

This all comes after former Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin announced she had plans to sue Azealia for a series of tweets that suggested Palin should be sexually assaulted and filmed - posts Banks has now both deleted and apologised for.
