Bowling For Soup

Bowling For Soup

March 2012 will see the return of Texan pop-punk maestro’s Bowling For Soup, for what has become their annual UK acoustic tour.

Coming off a marvelous 2011, which included their second acoustic tour of the UK in April, the release of their 11th studio album the same month, both an attendance record setting acoustic set and a critically acclaimed main stage set at Download Festival, and a better than ever (again annual) full band tour of the UK in October, the fun loving jokesters are charging full steam ahead!

For those uninitiated in the acoustic set, it is a fantastic chance for fans of BFS, old and new, hard-core and moderate, to get up close and personal with the band and experience a stripped-down take on the bands expansive library of tunes.

"One of the things that makes the acoustic shows unique is that we aren’t locked in to playing 'the hits,'" frontman Jaret Reddick explains.

"We can dig deep into all 11 albums if we wish and, quite honestly, can do a completely different take on songs from night to night.

"Plus, the interaction with the audience becomes an even bigger part of the BFS experience and we can make each night a unique experience."

Support comes in the form of a few very familiar faces to the BFS crowd.

People On Vacation features none other than Reddick, of BFS, and his partner in crime Ryan Hamilton of the Texan indie-rock band Smile Smile.

In addition to this already stellar line-up, audiences will be treated to an acoustic performance from Erik Chandler, who of course can usually be found handling the four string duties in BFS.  Material from Erik’s forthcoming debut solo album will be played throughout the tour.

"It’s a long night," laughs Chandler. "And we all kind of interact with one another throughout. It keeps it fresh and fun for all of us, as well as the audience.

"Not to mention, supporting ourselves is a cool way for Jaret and I to introduce BFS fans to the other things we are up to."

It’s an intentionally diverse line-up which delivers 3 very different bands and 3 entirely different offerings stemming from the BFS camp.  This is definitely a tour not to be missed.
