Meghan Trainor's latest single 'No' was inspired by being p****d off with label boss LA Reid.

The 22-year-old pop beauty's song from her second album 'Thank You' came out of the fury she felt when she took all the songs she had to Reid and he told her she didn't have a hit single in her collection.

She explained: "I was p****d off with LA Reid [Meghan's label boss]. I love him so much, but after I gave him the new album, he sat me down and told me I didn't have a single. I said: 'Yes I do I have nine singles'.

"He said: 'But you don't have a bullet yet.' So I went into the studio and said: 'I'm p****d off, I want a big angry song!' And it turned into a girl power anthem."

And whatever she did seemed to work as by channeling her anger it made Reid - who has worked with everyone from Justin Bieber to Jennifer Lopez - put the 'Lips Are Moving' hitmakers' record on repeat all night long.

She told The Sun newspaper: "I wrote it in one sitting and when I took it back to LA Reid, he played it 29 times that night."

Elsewhere on the album, the track 'Just A Friend To You' is a song about being in love with a close pal and them not liking you back, taken from her real life experience.

Explaining the story, she said: "There's one track called Just A Friend To You, which is about being in love with your best friends when they don't feel the same way. It happened to me - I broached the situation with this guy and said: 'We're together right?' He said no. It was very confusing, especially when he said he loved me."
