Alexandra Burke

Alexandra Burke has parted ways with RCA records.

The 'Broken Heels' singer left the company amicably last month after signing a management deal in the US to work with Kevin Liles, who helped launch the careers of Jay-Z and Kanye West.

Speaking of her split from RCA in the UK, a source told mailonline.co.uk: "[It was a case of] the label being unhappy with Alexandra and Alexandra was unhappy with the label. There didn't seem any point in continuing."

Alex is now thought to be concentrating on furthering her career in the US.

However, Alex's popularity in England remains strong and earlier this month she had to postpone a run of sell out shows in her 'Lady Sings The Blues' tour, scheduled for this month, so she could move them to larger venues.

A statement released on her behalf said: "Due to an overwhelming demand for tickets, Alexandra Burke has decided to postpone her June 'Lady Sings The Blues' concerts and re-schedule the performances for later this year, at additional venues.

"Tickets for the six dates at the Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room sold out within hours, with many fans disappointed, so these new dates, to be announced soon, will allow more fans to see and enjoy the shows."

Alex has also recently said she is still working hard writing and recording for the follow up to 2012's 'Heartbreak on Hold'.

She told BANG Showbiz: "I've actually built a studio in my house, downstairs, I'm literally in it every day, recording, l'm flying to the states a lot, I've been in Los Angeles and New York a lot, and if the producers cant' fly to me, I fly to them.

"I have recorded maybe 15 songs, I usually do 60 to 70 songs for an album and whittle it down. It stretches me, I've been doing two songs a night."

Alexandra was first signed to Sony's Syco record label after winning 'The X Factor' in 2008, but moved to RCA in 2011.
