Eminem's new album will head into "further territories".

The 'Love the Way You Lie' rapper is working hard on his seventh major label album, and his long time collaborator, Alchemist, says he's planning to push boundaries.

He told MTV: "That's my boss. I DJ for him and I'm not at liberty to speak on much, but you know his calibre and what he does. He's clearly going to further territories. I think what you would expect, especially after [sixth album, 'Relapse']."

The DJ further explained the rapper was coming back around more to the humorous and outspoken persona which made him famous, after the sobriety and reflection which marked his last two albums, 'Relapse' and 'Recovery' - recorded in the wake of his overcoming an addiction to prescription drugs.

He added: "He was just getting his feet back on 'Relapse' and then 'Recovery' just came with the smash hits and everything and I think now - he's Eminem."

Eminem's new album was confirmed earlier this year by Paul Rosenburg from his record label, Shady Records, who said: "We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He's been working on it for some time."

Another of the rapper's collaborators, Royce Da 5'9", said Eminem was working on an album but being secretive earlier this year.

He said: "When you get in the studio he's in the back room where the booth is and the door is locked.

"Nobody's allowed back there, nobody ever knows what he's doing. All I know is that he's constantly working, so if he told me that he had an album ready right now, I would believe him because he's like a work horse. He works every day."
