The weather was not in Wayne Newton's favour on Monday when the Las Vegas entertainers plane was grounded in Los Angeles due to bad weather, causing him to miss a late night appearance on U.S. TV.
The singer, known as Mr. Las Vegas, was due to be interviewed on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson but never made it to California in time for the programme's late afternoon taping.
Notifying the studio audience of Newton's late cancellation, Ferguson joked, "There was some terrible weather today and Wayne Newton was due to be on the show tonight but he can’t because of the terrible weather, because Wayne is afraid of bad weather. He will not come out when it’s raining!”
