Swedish House Mafia

Swedish House Mafia

Fresh from their landmark show at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden, which sold out with 20,000 tickets purchased in 9 minutes, Electronic pioneers Swedish House Mafia release the official video for “Antidote.”  The video comes in two versions; a clean pre-watershed version and an explicit version. Watch to find the difference…

“Antidote” – a collaboration with Knife Party (side project of Pendulum's, Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen) – treads a much darker path than the Swede’s usual productions and comes with a massive dubstep-esque warbling bottom-end.  The track is released in the UK on 15th January with remixes from Tommy Trash and dub mixes from both the Swedes & Knifeparty.

On Friday night Swedish House Mafia not only took over Madison Square Garden but ruled the internet too, streaming the show live to the entire world with over 414K playbacks. People joined the party in the millions leading to a No. 1 global trend on Twitter for the duration of the show!

The New York Times described the gig as “Relentless Waves of Sound, Reined by Drops of Thundering Bass” while Rolling Stone called it “a spectacle big enough to turn a two-hour DJ set into an electrifying, floor-shaking, fist-pumping experience.” Dancing Astronaut added: “Swedish House Mafia took the Garden — and NYC in general — by storm.”

Swedish House Mafia will complete another historic first when they headline a gargantuan 9-hour “One Night Stand” show in front of 65,000 people at the Milton Keynes National Bowl on July 14th 2012. Highlights of this incredible event will be recorded by BBC Radio 1 for a future broadcast. The Swedes can also now confirm that DJ producer of the moment Calvin Harris and 17 year old pop/house producer Madeon have been added as special guests to this already extraordinary show.

Swedish House Mafia have already enjoyed phenomenal success to date. They’ve sold two over million singles in 2010 alone, saw their album ‘Until One’ reach Gold status in the UK and two #1 Billboard dance hits (for “Save The World” and “Miami 2 Ibiza” feat. Tinie Tempah), a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording (Save The World).  Their recent UK tour sold out in minutes which saw a second night added at London’s Alexandra Palace, they’ve also co-headlined Radio One’s Big Weekend, played major festivals including Electric Daisy Carnival, Creamfields, T in the Park and Oxegen and their infamous Masquerade Motel events sold out in Miami, Las Vegas and Ibiza where they enjoyed a sixteen week residency.

Release date: 15th January 2012
