Multi million selling singer songwriter KT Tunstall has announced the release of her third studio album on Virgin / Relentless. Entitled ‘Tiger Suit’ the album is the follow up to 2007’s platinum selling ‘Drastic Fantastic’ and represents a shift in direction for the Brit and Ivor Novello Award winning Scottish songstress.
Elements of all the influences that make up ‘Tiger Suit’ come together in the stunning first single ‘(Still A) Weirdo’ (released September 27th on Virgin / Relentless), one of the last songs written for the album. A beautiful acoustic guitar line floats through organic and electronic rhythm sounds, while the lyrics are some of KT’s most personal and affecting to date.
Largely demo’d in the solar powered home studio she built at her recently acquired country hide away, the album is produced by Jim Abbiss, famous for his work with Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Adele and Editors amongst others.
Representing a musical departure that KT has dubbed ‘Nature Techno’ due to its blend of organic instrumentation and dance-friendly textures, the album was recorded in Berlin – in the legendary Hansa Studios, which played host to the recording of seminal output from the likes of David Bowie (Heroes) and U2 (Achtung Baby).
