Erykah Badu Late for Show

Soul mama Erykah Badu who recently gave birth to her third child kept her fans waiting at the SXSW festival in Texas this weekend, through no fault of her own.

The Texas born songstress had to deal with a stalker who had positioned themselves outside her house so Erykah couldn’t make it to her show in time.

The unnamed stalker was pepper sprayed and arrested by local police and eventually Ms Badu was able to make her way to her show, only about a half hour late.

Death Row to Relaunch

April 18th has officially been announced as the day Death Row Records will relaunch. The label was bought by Canadian company WIDEawake Entertainment group for $18 million after it founder and owner Suge Knight was declared bankrupt.

Helping the company with its new plan of attack on the music industry and in releasing the extensive catalogue in music is E1 formerly known as Koch Records which is the largest indie label in the US.

The first project from the new Death Row is a three track sampler which will feature cuts from Crooked I, Petey Pablo and Danny Boy. It will be in stores next month.

Death Row was masterminded by Suge Knight and super producer Dr. Dre back in 1991.

Day N Nite rapper not Retiring

With his recent track Day n Nite getting some serious airplay, rapper Kid Cudi amazed his fans last week by indicating that he was already thinking about retirement once he had released his first album.

However the Cleveland native addressed the situation while performing at SXSW this weekend after turning up late to perform having missed his flight.

Cudi indicated that he was just having a ‘Spiderman’ moment having posted a blog entry which explained why he was retiring and confirmed to fans at the show "I understand that I need ya'll and ya'll need me, so I can't stop. No more retirement, I'm hear to stay now.”

Kid Cudi is a member of the G.O.O.D label masterminded by Kanye West and which features Chicago artists John Legend and Common. His debut album Man on the Moon: The Guardians is expected some time this Summer.
