T.I

Self-proclaimed King Of The South, T.I. releases, ‘Whatever You Like’ in the UK on June 1 digitally and physically via Atlantic Records/Grand Hustle.  The Jim Jonsin produced track (Lil Wayne, Pretty Ricky) has already seen a US release last year and was his biggest selling digital track (well over 3 million downloads).

The single looks set to continue the blaze lit by the phenomenal UK top 5 single, ‘Dead and Gone’, featuring Justin Timberlake, as well as, the massive - ‘Live Your Life’ feat. Rihanna – that stormed the chart at number two last year.   Those two previous singles combined achieved single sales over 500K in the UK and all tracks are lifted from the current UK Gold certified album - Paper Trail.

Not to be outdone, the success of his recent single, ‘Dead and Gone’ follows a stunning live performance alongside Timberlake at the 51st Grammy Awards recently in Los Angeles.  The event saw the ATL based superstar adding yet another statue to his Grammy shelf, taking home ‘Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group’ for his blockbuster collaboration with Jay-Z, ‘Swagga Like Us’ (feat.Kanye West and Lil Wayne).  T.I who was also among last year’s big Grammy winners – teamed up onstage with his fellow MC’s to perform the award winning track with a heavily pregnant MIA. In addition to his multiple Grammy Awards, T.I. is a recipient of a wide variety of honours, including BET Awards, BET Hip-Hop Awards, and Billboard Music Awards.

In other news, T.I. is currently headlining a provocative MTV documentary series: T.I.’s Road To Redemption: 45 Days To Go .  The inspirational docu-series follows him as he counts down the days to his impending sentencing for weapons charges.  It not only shows T.I. as he attempts to help change the lives of desperate teenagers in America, but also offers a behind-the-scenes peek at the most private and personal moments of one of today’s hottest most sought-after artists on the verge of leaving his glittering career for time behind bars.

The Los Angeles Times hailed the series for offering “a compelling glimpse into a world too often fetishized on television,” praising T.I. as “Charismatic and confident, he has no trouble acknowledging both his mistakes and the very real societal forces working on him in and out of jail.”
