Thrice

Thrice

I made my way to Braham Park much more insulated for Saturday's festivities, wellies replaced my sandals and I had a pair of leggings in my back ready for later in the day… I was ready to party.

The first band I checked out were American rockers Thrice, who travelled all the way from Irvine, California to join us in Yorkshire and kick ass on the main stage after the crowd were warmed up by Motion City Sountrack and The King Blues.

Despite only catching the end of their set thanks to a plethora of interviews from the moment I arrived on site, I was overwhelmed by how epic their sound was. I'd only heard them in friends cars and nightclubs in the past, so I wasn't super keen on checking them out live or anything, it wasn't like I was a huge fan or knew ANY words to their songs.

The beauty about their set though, was the fact that it made me WANT go head out and buy their albums and learn all the words, so that the next time I see them live (I can assure you I'll be checking them out the next time they are over here) I can appreciate them so much more.

The crowd was sparse - but that was to be expected for the third band on - nevertheless, the people in the pit below me were tearing it up for all the people who were still rubbing their eyes after one too many ciders last night.

I can't really list any of their songs, because, well, I don’t know the names of any of them and no matter how hard I tried to ask people what songs they had played, I was just met with looks of confusion and in some cases just ignored. So, all I can say is that Thrice were EPIC… now someone please send me a CD!
