Its an October night in Manchester and you can already tell that the cold is setting in as we all huddle up in the venue…. Keeping us all warm on the inside were the nights entertainment though, kicking off with Hertfordshire kids, Lower than Atlantis. Opening with their track, Far Q they had the crowd singing along in no time, partially due to their awesome stage presence, thanks to bassist, Declan.

On next were London lads, Devil Sold His Soul; their catchy riffs and musicianship was hard to miss during crowd-pleasing tracks such as Tides, Drowning/Sinking and An Ocean Of Lights and whilst I was busy flicking through pictures during the sat, I couldn’t help but feel their presence.

The crowd went wild for main supports Norma Jean, who had ventured over from America to be a part of the evenings events, and tracks Will Be Laid To Waste and Vipers, Snakes And Actors went down like a house on fire.

After the warm ups had been and gone it was time for the big boys, Architects. I couldn’t wait to check out these kids and they certainly didn’t disappoint either; the set was tight and the guitarists shone through with their precision and expertise.

Sam Carter proved himself as the perfect frontman with his effortless stage presence and vocal performance, winning me over with the slamming performance of Early Grave which enveloped the audience in one giant mosh pit before the band closed the set with Follow The Water, only to return shortly after for an encore of Hollow Crown.
